Climbing Mount Kinabalu
There are pools of information all over the internet about climbing Mount Kinabalu and it can be frustrating to read all of them. We have gathered some of the most frequent asked questions and answers below.
1. Jan/Feb slots are opened for booking now
You may choose to book directly with us at following prices:
RM 980 Malaysian (2pax or more)
RM1280 Malaysian (1pax only)
RM1280 International (2pax or more)
RM1580 International (1pax only)
2. What am I paying for?
The rate inclusive of one breakfast, two lunches, one dinner, one supper, one night accommodation at Panalaban base camps, entrance fee, mountain guide fee, insurance, climbing permit and certificates, english speaking support team and land return transfer (Faloe Hostel or Kota Kinabalu town - Kinabalu Park registration office – Timpohon Gate – Kinabalu Park registration office - Faloe Hostel or Kota Kinabalu town).
If you are offered a much lower rate than the price mentioned above, don't get too excited. It is very likely that some must-have services have been excluded and shall be added in your final bill.
3. How much do people normally pay?
For a standard 2D1N climb, the price varies for Malaysian or International passport holder, number of climber signing-up, and from difference booking sources. In general, the prices are:
RM1300-RM1600 pp at low season
RM1600-RM1900 pp at high season
4. When is the low or high season?
The seasons vary from year to year and are defined by:

5. Can I do one day climb?
One day climb permit has been suspended since 2015.
6. Should I book in advance?
If you have a well-planned itinerary with confirmed fly-in and fly-out tickets, it is advisable to book the mountain climb in advance to avoid disappointment.
7. Can I book last minute?
It is still possible to book the climb last minute. Some travellers cancel their mountain climb booking due to change of travel plan, and the slots will be made available to others that enquire.

0200 Start trekking to the summit
0600 ETA at Low’s Peak, 4095m
0700 Descend from Low’s Peak
1000 ETA base camp, breakfast
1300 ETA at starting point, buffet lunch
1400 ETD to Kota Kinabalu
1600 ETA Kota Kinabalu
9. What gear do I need?
Head torch (compulsory), waterproof bag, raincoat, trekking or running shoe with good grip, walking stick, warm clothes & pants, gloves and winter hat, refillable water bottle (min 1 Litre), high energy food such as chocolates, nuts, biscuits, or energy bars.
